Safety
At Pontoon Works not only have we developed processes that ensure the solidity and reliability of the installation, but also take our responsibility for the safety both our own people and all of those who use them.
We have an impeccable safety record. Our operations are managed in a way that aims to maximise the health and safety of our employees, visitors and contractors.
Our Health & Safety policy is to:
- comply with all relevant legislation
- seek continual improvement in our safety performance
- make health and safety an integral part of our business success.
This policy is communicated to all staff and is kept under continuous review.
The managing director is ultimately responsible for the implementation of the above. However, all employees are instrumental in the success of our policy and as such we promote a positive attitude to H and S. Our culture is built on Trust, Knowledge and Communication.
To enable our employees to maintain our high standards, we involve them in the management of their own health and safety through regular training. All of our employees have undertaken NEBOSH certification and have a National General Certificate in Health and Safety. This has given them the knowledge they need to assess potential hazards on any given site, both to themselves and to others.
Tools and equipment
We spend a lot of time researching tools and equipment so that our team are safe and efficient. In 2007 Pontoon Works and Mullion developed a life jacket specifically for our needs combining the buoyancy aid with a harness and HiViz. This design has worked well for us and has since become part of the Mullion range.
What this means for our Clients?
- Site visits prior to installation including an appraisal of Health and Safety requirements.
- Method Statements and Risk Assessments
- Confidence in our safe systems of work
We know that our continued endeavours in this field are imperative to our success and sustainability.
